Utilizing Patent pending multilayer JM Audio Proprietary Fractal Mesh Technology™ and Fractal Fiberglass Porous Carbon™. We use have two different drivers choices (Beryllium Cast Basket not stamped using N52 magnets). We hand match every single driver set we install- but you choose what is best for you: 32, 64 and 300 ohm in a 52nm magnet Beryllium.
We also offer internal wiring upgrades to 7N (What is OCC 7N? Basically the best copper wire you can buy in terms of both sound quality and physical properties.) We can use this on your XTC for internal wiring- Material: OCC 7N (99,99999%) copper- OCC (Ohno Continuous Cast) a casting process developed to help defeat annealing issues and virtually eliminate all grain boundaries in copper. It is the best of the best available and we believe we are the only headphone company offering this option. We also use WBT silver solder with these upgrades.

We don’t mass produce anything. We custom tailor our products to suit what an individual wants and that takes skill and time. Even our most basic mod will get the utmost time and dedication from us until we are satisfied with the sound quality. We have to meet all of the typical quality we feel is necessary . We don’t simply mod away, slap a sticker on it and call it a day…we take our time on each individual headphone until it is ready to be loved and used.
I have spent the better part of this last year and this year searching for the best measuring dynamic drivers… one that can be customized and tailored for warmth and extraordinary detail - and can be further dialed in any way a user may like before they order. I found what I consider the finest drivers on the market - an all forged/cast not stamped basket utilizing N52 magnets and an occ copper coil system with a very fast and agile nano sized 50mm diver - one of the best I ever measured and has addictive sound qualities.

Utilizing Patent pending multilayer JM Audio Proprietary Fractal Mesh Technology™ and Fractal Fiberglass Porous Carbon™ - both used together to open and extend the soundstage and create more depth emulating more space and air while helping create a pin point accurate stage. For our closed back XTC - we developed a proprietary new Nautilus Spiral Sandwich between layers of fractal mesh and porous carbon graphene - this allows a new amazingly open sound unlike any we ever heard before- it sounds so correct and so close to the best open backs that practical money can buy no matter the size of the cup.
We also wired the very precious drivers with OFC copper wire - the best I have ever seen in the headphone business available that I know of especially in this price range.
The XTC Is tuned to reveal all the details deep inside your recordings. You can expect deep tight bass with no bloat yet at the same time the XTC is even and smooth through the mid range and treble. The XTC has precise timbre and has a knack of digging out sublime details with air as light as a feather; while remaining composed and never harsh or sibilant. Each song you play you will dive deeper into the recording and immerse yourself like no other headphone I know of currently - a very light weight headphone (14-16 ounces - as a comparison the Hifiman Arya weigh in at 404g / 14.3oz.) and extremely comfortable headband - yet is now a heavy weight in performance- utilizing JM Editions patent pending fractal mesh technology for a wide spread out soundstage. Ez to drive at 32ohms and 114 db efficiency!
Right now we have only a few available in white hard walnut, red cherry and wange and black (additional $75) all made from reall hard natural wood- all with a very durable hard clear coat finish that can be waxed like a car clear coat!
We are including a practical Waterproof Flight Case to protect these during transport and storage.
You also get a choice of 2 (two) sets of ear pads. We have 3 choices : (1) Vegan Leather Exterior Pad with Microfiber suede Fabric that touches skin with slow moving but not dense memory foam for a light airy feel both on your head and for your music sessions. A real favorite of mine is the (2) ‘Fluffy Memory Foam Angled’ for a more bassy dynamic experience with ultimate comfort- like two soft pillows on your ears. We also can recommend a very (3) light leather like perforated ear pad for the most air and spread out stage and less bas option. Can’t decide on which ear pads? And for the ultimate ear pad choice - we just added two very premium choices - top of the line deep cushion perforated angled sheepskin leather (more open sound than solid but slightly less bass) for $50 additional or solid top grain deep cushion supple soft leather (more bass than the perforated sheep leather) for $50. Both of these are my personal favorite both for comfort, sound and ultimate luxury. WHY XTC?
I chose the letters XTC to be many things; first off it is phonetic "X T C" - its also a double entendre (XTC like the drug ecstasy which gives users a euphoric rush and is a central nervous stimulant which causes high levels of dopamine to be released (a brain chemical associated with pleasure.).. or the word the actual word ecstasy, meaning rapture and immense pleasure. XTC can transport intense exaltation of mind and feelings- they suggest a state of trance or near immobility produced by an overpowering emotion - for music these headphones are like all of these things like a drug but none of the harmful side effects. What do I want from my XTC? Richer timbre, wider soundstage, a clean quiet power, somewhat neutral and truthful to the source, with very little coloration to the music. I want a very proper and wide soundstage, dimensionality, and specal presentation. Toe tapping, head bopping, dancing to the music good- you know... a good time like when I was a teenager. I want it to take me back to the best times in my life and make new memories of just how good a song I have heard over and over now makes me nearly weep with emotion. Is that all? Nope, I want the XTC to make me dream of it when I sleep, long to listen to when ever I have the free time. And the XTC should not waste any of that precious time with lackluster performance. The headphone should create emotion and admiration towards whatever genre of music I listen to with it. I want a party in my head. I want my third eye to nearly open as I transport mind, body and soul to a new plain of existence. I want goose bumps, I want my neck hairs to rise up and my head to tingle. I want to know with near certainty, this is probably as good as it gets - this could be my end game headphone and probably will be satisfying me for the very near and late future. The XTC series also Includes a beautiful 2mm cable- braided w/36 strand 26AWG high purity OFC (Oxygen-Free Copper) cable, Litz structure which means some strands will be mixed diameters yielding best performance. Each ear cup is wired with a female jack using a gold plated copper 3.5mm jack. You can choose the wire type that’s right for your set up - termed in 2m 3.5mm for amp end, or a 2m 4 pin XLR cable or special request by email - the 2m TRRS end. Every headphone we mod or make gets tested before we put our signature logo on it- Frequency response, sound sweep, spectral flatness test, dynamic range, bass shaker, driver matching, wiring in phase, absolute phase check for all internal driver wiring, external wires, Harmonic Distortion Test, and Binaural Test - then we audition each set of headphones with 10 test songs.

Returns for Retunings
All of JM AUDIO headphones are guaranteed to be operational and tuned to the customers preference. If any headphone is not tuned as such - the headphone can be returned for a retuning - paid by JM Audio if in the USA back to the original purchasing customer. Original owners in foreign countries can pay for shipping one way to us and we will do one re-tuning freight paid back to customer. We do offer life time re-tunings freight both ways paid by the customer and the re-tuning is fee of charge. Since all products we make are wood and wood has variations and minor imperfections can be expected. We try to avoid such issues through our inspection process and take any imperfections as character of a handmade product but realize some limitations to our inspection process and will take each case of imperfections on a case by case basis. If any headphone headband breaks within in the first year of first ownership or has to be replaced, we do so free of charge once item is shipped to us and we will pay for shipping back to the customer no matter where they are located. We do suggest using Prirateship or Shippo for the cheapest rates for UPS and USPS. Any returns for re-tunings to second parties can be arranged at the second owners expense of shipping both ways, but the re-tuning is performed at no charge. Refunds are not available on custom tuned headphones. We will strive to achieve the tuning the customer prefers and will recommend ear pads that may not have been included to satisfy further refinement to the original owners at near our cost if the customer needs extra pads or to achieve better sound or performance for comfort. We strive to make our customers happy, and each custom driver is hand selected and matched and guaranteed from defects or failure for one year where by repairs will be made free of charge with shipping sent free back to the customer. We are proud to offer re-tunings and think this is an ideal way for customers to really customize their headphones with us, and we like to know the amps dacs and wire and music types you enjoy. We also would like to know which headphones you like and dislike so we can try to match that particular tuning for your preference. If tastes change some time later, you are entitled to re-tunings free of charge for life as the original owner - shipping to and from is the responsibly of the customer however.
